Raynel Schallert graduated from Pierce City High School and continued her education at Missouri Southern State College. She and her husband are the owners and operators of Schallert Seed and have been in the agricultural farming business for 27 years.
Raynel has been an active volunteer in several capacities at Purdy R-II Schools over the last 16 years. She was Volunteer Coordinator before taking the position as director of the AmeriCorps program. The belief of an excellent education for all students has kept her involved at Purdy. She helped conceive and implement the AmeriCorps program at Purdy R-II Schools, from its beginning in 1999 until 2006. She feels she brings an understanding of the daily workings and special challenges of AmeriCorps programs to the commission. She continues to support the vision of AmeriCorps and the rewards it brings to the members and the recipients of the programs around the state.
Raynel volunteers as Financial Director for the Barry/Lawrence Chapter of Thrivent a not-for-profit membership organization. She also sits on the FACS advisory council and chaired the BEST Committee to pass the Purdy school bond issue. Her continued commitment to Purdy R-II Schools is reflected in her weekly after school tutoring. She is dedicated to helping all students achieve success.
