Tameka Randle

Tameka Randle from Cleveland Ohio, was born and raised to the parents of Bobbie and Onzo Randle. She has a younger sister name La’Wanza Randle and they are just 18 months apart. During her teenage years, she was an active participant in the Top Teens of America Organization, the basketball team, and the track team for 4 years. During her junior and senior year at Rhodes High School as a basketball athlete, she earned All-Conference Honors, Most Valuable Player and was selected as Captain of the Team. As a track athlete, she earned All-Conference honors and All-State Honors for 4 years, Most Valuable Athlete during her junior and senior year and selected as Team Captain. During her senior year in track, she placed 15th in the nation in the Pentathlon.

After graduating from high school, she earned a 4-year basketball scholarship to Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan. In which, she earned a Captain position and the 1st recipient of the Wilma Rudolph Image Award for Top Female Athlete during her senior year, along with serving on the Student - Athlete Advisory Committee.  As a graduate from Eastern Michigan University she obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education and earned a Teaching Certification. After completing college, she worked as a Building Resource Teacher at Gretchen’s House Child Care Center and as Middle School Girl’s Basketball Coach for Willow Run Community Schools in Michigan.

She left Gretchen’s House to accept an Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach Position for Southeast Missouri State University during the 2000-2001 season.  Then she became an Associate Coordinator with Missouri Mentoring Partnership for over 2 years, assisting youth 16-21 years of age with their educational and career goals. After working 2 years with Missouri Mentoring Partnership, she accepted a position with A.O. Employment Services as a Career Manager for one year, continuing to assist youth 16-21 years of age in obtaining their goals. In July of 2006, Tameka accepted a new position as Business Liaison. Then in December of 2006, she was promoted to Regional Manager of A.O. Employment Services.

As a resident of Cape Girardeau, she currently serves as Board President of The Boys & Girls Club of Cape Girardeau and was recognized as The Boys & Girls Club 2006 Volunteer of the year. She is a Commissioner of the Missouri Community Service Commission Board and a member of Habitat of Humanity Family Selection Committee and the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Young Professionals. Tameka has also found time to pursue a Masters in Public Administration at Southeast Missouri State University and volunteer her time as Sikeston Little League Basketball Coach and a player of the Cape Girardeau Women’s City League. Her team won 1st place in the 2005 - 2006 season and she received an award for Top Leading Scorer. In 2006, Tameka was also recognized with a Resolution from the Missouri House of Representatives and she earned an award for graduating from the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program.

Tameka has found that Cape Girardeau, Missouri is a very wonderful place to live; she has been able to advance in her career and provided an opportunity to serve a community that has embraced her so warmly.
