Andres is a Program Officer with the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City. He joined the Foundation in November of 2007. At the Foundation he is dedicated to improving access and quality of health for uninsured and underserved individuals and communities in Kansas City, Missouri and a six county service area in Kansas (Allen, Johnson, Wyandotte) and Missouri (Cass, Jackson, Lafayette). Prior to HCF he was the Community Affairs Advisor to the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City and at the Kauffman Foundation.  His professional experience has focused on the strengthening of neighborhoods, economic development, building collaborative partnerships and asset development.

Dominguez graduated from St. Mary College, Leavenworth, Kansas, in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Affairs Administration. In 1997 he completed his Master of Arts degree in Education with an emphasis in Multi-Culturalism at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas. His thesis was "An Analysis of Latino Parents and Their Role in the Education of Their Children". After graduation from St. Mary he obtained employment with Dismas of Kansas City, Inc., a refugee resettlement program as a Community Outreach Coordinator. In 1987 he changed career focus to include youth development at INROADS/Kansas City, Inc. as a specialist in Public Affairs and Students Services. He served as the liaison between the organization, the local business community, students, parents and college partners.  In 1993, he began a 14 year tenure with the Kauffman Foundation.

Dominguez serves on various Boards and Commissions that empower youth, address economic access and engage citizens as part of the civic fabric of the city.  

 

He is married to Amy Heithoff and lives in Parkville, Missouri. Andres and Amy have two children; Sophia Julieta and Andres Arcadio.
