One Line Summary: It Doesn't Get Any Better
When it Happened: 02/10/2006
What Happened: From September to last week, I have picked up a student promptly at eight a.m. four mornings a week. She never wanted to tell me anything about her evenings or week-ends. She was always quiet and reluctant. What I learned from knowing her a little bit here and there was that she was popular, happy, and for the most part very accomplished (she is training as a dancer.) The one thing she had trouble with was reading and she knew it, even if she didn't talk about it. Something changed in her last week. She opened up from the beginning of our session. She told be about her annual vacation, her little brother, her dad and his work. We talked for the whole half hour. She was surprised when I told her our time was up and disappointed we didn't have time to read. Today she came ready and open with questions, answers, and enthusiasm. It doesn't get any better for a Reading Coach! Coach Dulce
